The Luckiest Little Town on Earth

Welcome to Luck, a lil’ Texas town with a mighty big reputation. Built on Willie Nelson’s ranch and presided over by the mayor himself, Luck has spent the last 15 years throwing one heck of a Reunion. Every spring, the gates swing wide and this sleepy patch of Hill Country fills with pickers, players, and the luckiest souls from far and wide. Consider this the Traveler’s Guide to Luck, a handy companion for anyone with a weakness for roadside wonders.

Motorists with a mind for leisure are invited to try their luck at Willie’s Cut N Putt, where nine holes come with a mighty fine view of the Hill Country. Mind your manners, keep score if you must, and remember: flip-flops are encouraged.

Make a stop at Pedernales Recording Studio, a Hill Country hit factory where more than a few famous boots have crossed the threshold. Willie, Waylon, Merle, Dolly, and Tanya have all made music here, and the walls have the good sense not to tell everything they’ve heard.

Luck’s finest meeting place, where tunes get picked, cards get dealt, and fortunes change by the hand. The Mayor has been known to deal a few himself. Office hours run till everybody’s had enough.

No trip to Luck is complete without a visit to the Chapel. Take a pew beneath the Hill Country sky and enjoy a quiet spell of reflection. Travelers of all denominations and dispositions are invited to come see the light. Visitors report leaving with a considerably higher point of view.

The Luck Saloon is a welcome sight for dusty boots and dry throats. Kick up your boots and order something stiff. ‘Round here, the drinks go down easy, and the tall tales come free. Best to leave your hurry at the door.

Travelers are advised to keep their eyes on the hillside for one of Luck’s most photographed attractions! Pull over and snap a picture for the folks back home. It’s the surest proof around that, for once, you really were in Luck.
