Rooted in Texas: Celebrating 15 Years of Culinary Grants with Texas Food & Wine Alliance

Investing in the living fabric of Texas hospitality as applications open for the 2026 TFWA Culinary Grant Program.
At Luck, we believe that food, land, and community are foundational art forms. The farmers tending soil, the chefs honoring regional flavors, and the local purveyors feeding our neighborhoods are building the very culture that holds us together. That is why standing behind our beliefs means more than simply cheering them on - it means putting real, tangible resources directly into the hands of the folks doing the work.
As the Texas Food & Wine Alliance opens applications for its 2026 Culinary Grant Program, that collective mission reaches an extraordinary milestone. This year marks 15 years of culinary grant making for the Alliance, officially surpassing $1 million in cumulative impact across the state. To celebrate this milestone, Texas Food and Wine Alliance is distributing $225,000 in grants this cycle to chefs, farmers, artisan producers, and food entrepreneurs across Texas. From bustling metro kitchens in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio to small family agricultural operations working rural acreage, these grants provide the vital seed funding that transforms innovative ideas into lasting community impact.

We are deeply proud to continue our hands-on partnership with the Alliance through two dedicated $20,000 awards from The Luck Family Foundation this year. The Luck, Texas Grant for Food Education and Access provides $20,000 to a farm, sourcer, food purveyor, or agricultural non-profit dedicated to furthering food access and hands-on agricultural education. Alongside it, The Luck Family Community Builders Grant directs $20,000 to a restaurant, food truck, chef, or culinary non-profit project that fosters deep neighborhood connection and builds community resilience.
These awards stand alongside a powerful coalition of fellow Texas visionaries - including H-E-B, Favor Delivery, and Les Dames d’Escoffier Austin - each funding grants designed to lift up women led businesses, diverse entrepreneurs, and resilient local kitchens. Whether it is helping an independent food truck recover from set backs, funding seed capital for a female owned culinary startup, or expanding fresh food access in underserved neighborhoods, every grant represents an investment in Texas hospitality.
Fifteen years ago, the Texas Food & Wine Alliance set out to prove that a relatively small investment in a passionate maker could ripple out to transform an entire community. Surpassing $1 million in impact is proof that when we invest in our own, the whole state thrives. We are honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Alliance, and we look forward to supporting the remarkable Texas makers who will shape the next chapter of our food and agricultural heritage.
